My Commitment to Your Privacy

The trust you place in me when you share your story is something I take very seriously. This policy explains what personal information I collect, why I collect it, how I keep it safe, and the rights you have over it. It applies to mariehunt.com and to all Reiki, counselling, bereavement support and Wellness in the Workplace services, as well as my Online Healing Journeys.

Marie Hunt Holistic Therapies is the data controller for your information and complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Acts 1988–2018.

Information I Collect

• Contact details — your name, email address and phone number when you make an enquiry, book a session, or join a waitlist or mailing list.
• Booking and payment details — the sessions or Healing Programmes you book or purchase. Card payments are handled securely by the payment provider; I never see or store your full card number.
• Health and wellbeing information — details you choose to share before or during sessions, such as your reasons for seeking support, relevant health history and session notes. This is special category data under GDPR and receives the highest level of protection.
• Website data — basic technical information collected through cookies. See the Cookie Policy for details.

How and Why I Use Your Information

• To provide your sessions and programmes — to arrange appointments, deliver safe and effective care, and give you access to Healing Programmes you have purchased (legal basis: performance of a contract).
• To keep appropriate therapeutic records — as required by my professional and ethical obligations (legal basis: legal obligation and legitimate interests; for health information, your explicit consent and the provision of health and social care).
• To reply to your enquiries (legal basis: legitimate interests).
• To send updates and news — only if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email (legal basis: consent).

I will never sell your information or share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Confidentiality

Everything you share in a session is confidential. As is standard in counselling and psychotherapy practice, I attend regular clinical supervision, where cases may be discussed without any information that could identify you. Confidentiality may only be broken in the rare circumstances where the law requires it or where there is a serious risk of harm to you or to others, including child safeguarding concerns under Children First legislation. Where possible, I will always discuss this with you first.

Who Your Information Is Shared With

I use a small number of trusted service providers to run the practice, who process data only on my instructions and under contracts that protect it:

• Course Creator 360 (built on GoHighLevel) — website, bookings, email and Online Healing Journeys
• Secure payment processors — for card payments
• Email and cloud storage providers — for secure communication and record keeping

Some of these providers may store data outside the European Economic Area. Where this happens, your information is protected by EU-approved safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

How Long I Keep Your Information

Therapeutic records are kept securely for the period required by my professional body and insurance obligations, and are then securely destroyed. Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are deleted within 12 months. Mailing list details are kept until you unsubscribe.

Keeping Your Information Safe

Your information is stored on password-protected, encrypted systems with access limited to me. Any paper notes are kept in a locked cabinet. Online sessions take place on secure video platforms.

Your Rights

Under GDPR you have the right to:

• Access the personal information I hold about you
• Ask me to correct anything inaccurate or incomplete
• Ask me to delete your information, where I am not legally required to keep it
• Restrict or object to how your information is used
• Receive your information in a portable format
• Withdraw your consent at any time

To use any of these rights, please email me. I will respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission at www.dataprotection.ie.
